    • Stone cladding - particularly sandstone
    • Timber - polished, weathered
    • Glass - frameless
    • Steel - stainless, aged/distressed (rusted, weathered), corrugated
    • Metal cladding - zinc, aluminium, steel
    • Contrasting materials
    • Materials used in unusual or unexpected contexts
    • Plants integrated into the aesthetic of the building - green walls/roof
    • Wallpaper - particularly textured
    • Earthy colours, deep rich colours
    • Pastel colours that reflect mid-century hues
  • Dislikes

    • Large expanses of Gyprock
    • Cheap, low grade materials, fixtures and fittings that don't last, don't wear well or damage or corrode easily e.g. flimsy aluminium windows, poor quality lights, soft timbers such as pinewood
    • Grout between tiles used in high traffic or hard wearing areas such as floors/showers. It’s unsightly, a dirt magnet and is impossible to keep clean
    • Poor lighting design or harsh lighting
    • Skirting boards
